Scholarships at Universidad de Glasgow

The University of Glasgow has 40 Chancellors Award Scholarships available to students from low and middle income countries, starting a 1 year postgraduate taught Masters programme in any discipline, in academic session 2024-25. The scholarship is awarded as a tuition fee discount.

To be eligible, application must:

• hold an offer of a place for a postgraduate taught programme for academic session 2024-25 (conditional or unconditional)

• be a national of a low and middle income country as defined by the OECD

• have international fee status

The University of Glasgow has several International Leadership Scholarships available to International students starting a postgraduate taught Masters programme in any discipline for Academic Session 2024-25. The scholarship is awarded as a tuition fees discount.

To be eligible, applicants must

• demonstrate academic excellence and achieve grades equivalent to UK 1st Class Honours

• hold an offer of a place for a postgraduate taught programme for September 2024

• have International fee status

Value : £10,000

The University of Glasgow is offering up to 20 Sanctuary Scholarships for applicants to the University, who have been forced to travel to the UK for humanitarian reasons and are facing challenges in progressing onto Higher Education. The scholarship is open to prospective undergraduate and postgraduate taught students at the University of Glasgow applying for entry in September 2024/25. Please note that you must have applied to the University before submitting an application for this scholarship.

The scholarship will meet the cost of tuition fees for the duration of your programme, for applicants who are unable to access mainstream funding through Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS) or Student Finance. The Sanctuary Scholarship also provides a £5,000 per year stipend, to assist with study costs. In addition, if the eligibility criteria for university accommodation is met, this will also be provided for the duration of your degree, if required.

Undergraduate students with refugee status (or equivalent) and access to funding, are eligible to apply for the scholarship and would receive the £5,000 stipend towards study costs only, if successful.

Postgraduate Taught Masters students with refugee status (or equivalent) and access to funding, are eligible to apply for the scholarship and would receive the £5,000 stipend towards study costs and a partial tuition fee waiver, to cover any shortfall not met by your Postgraduate Masters tuition fee loan.

To be eligible applicants must:

• Hold a firm conditional or unconditional offer for full time study at the University of Glasgow for 2024/25.

• Have submitted a claim for asylum in the UK OR are actively appealing a negative decision on claim for asylum in the UK OR have been granted Refugee Status, Humanitarian Protection (HP) or Discretionary Leave (DL) by the Home Office, as a result of an asylum claim.

OR

Have come to the UK through schemes such as:

• UK Resettlement Scheme (UKRS)

• Afghan citizens Resettlement Scheme

• Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP)

• Syrian Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme (VPRS)

• Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme (Homes for Ukraine)

• Ukraine Family Scheme

Value

The Sanctuary Scholarship provides:

• Full tuition fee waiver for the duration of study, where you are not eligible to apply for mainstream student finance to cover full tuition fees 

• £5,000 per year towards for study costs

• University of Glasgow accommodation for the duration of study, if eligible. (For those with no access to public funds only)

The School aims to attract academically talented students from around the world to study a postgraduate taught programme and provide them with an intellectually demanding, research and industry-informed education. Excellence scholarships are available to International & EU candidates with a 1^st class UK-equivalent honours degree  for Academic Session 2024-25.

• hold a conditional or unconditional offer for a Computing Science postgraduate taught programme for September 2024

Value : £10,000

The University of Glasgow has a number of Undergraduate Excellence Scholarships available to new International and EU students for 2024 entry. The scholarship is awarded as a tuition fee discount of £7,000 per year of study and is subject to satisfactory progress for consecutive years of study.  

To be eligible, applicants must

• have International or EU (non-UK) fee status

• hold an offer of a place for an undergraduate programme for 2024

• demonstrate excellent academic achievement before starting University:

• Qualifications already achieved:  students holding the following A Level/IB (or local equivalent) grades are guaranteed a scholarship offer;

• Qualification not yet achieved:  students predicted, or who achieve, the following A Level/IB (or local equivalent) grades are guaranteed a scholarship offer.  For offers made on the basis of predicted grades, the scholarship may
  be withdrawn if final exam results do not meet the grades outlined below.
